What Are Garage Floor Coatings?
Garage floor coatings are a multi-layer system applied directly to the concrete slab. It typically starts with mechanical surface preparation to open the pores of the concrete, followed by a primer, a base coat, and a durable topcoat. Epoxy flake systems broadcast colored chips into the base coat for texture and a decorative, speckled look. Polyaspartic coatings cure faster than epoxy and hold up well to UV exposure, which matters for garages with south-facing doors.
